In MR. AND MRS. NORTH, Richard Denning plays Jerry North, a publisher of mystery stories who seems to stumble upon his own intrigue every week.
Although he fancies himself a pretty good detective, his rather naive wife Pamela always seems to be one step ahead of both her husband and the police. Barbara Britton adds a great comic touch to this show which first premiered on October 3, 1952.
In this particular episode, Jerry is out to save his lawyer friend played by actor Robert Hutton.
In the second episode, the publisher and his wife try to find a novellist's murderer. Hans Conreid (MAKE ROOM FOR DADDY) and Ivan Lebedeff star in this show which introduces Katy Jurado (HIGH NOON) as Lolita Alvarez.

This tape should be titled REED HADLEY DEFENDS AMERICANS, because you get two shows of him portraying the ultinmate civil servant.
As Captain John Braddock in the racket squad of a large metropolitan police department, he defends the public from various confidence schemes. The show was based on actual case records from different police departments around the country, and this episode, originally aired on Jubne 7, 1951, is about a gold mine swindle.
As attorney Bert Matthews in PUBLIC DEFENDER, he defends those who can't afford their own council. This episode concentrates on the prejudices against teenage hot rodders and the fate of one boy who is unjustly blamed for a crash.
