Dino Delaurentiis presents KING KONG
six sheet $3,500 (left/center) two sheet $2,500 (right)
I worked in the production offices of the legendary Italian film producer Dino Delaurentiis during his 1970's reign in New York City. That included working on Death Wish, Three Days of the Condor, and Mandingo among others that never got produced. I was in a production meeting when Dino was approving King Kong Posters for his 1976 re-make. I even met the artist John Berkey who created this six sheet poster. Size 79 X 55, that was for release in Italy. You might recognize this American artist's name best known for creating the original poster art for the Star Wars trilogy, also the "Old Elvis Stamp". He was among the pioneering giants in the history of creating science fiction art work. At the end of the meeting as I was packing up the posters Dino let me take this one. I'm sorry I never had the artist and Dino sign it.

His first film poster was for Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942), and his final work was for J. Edgar (2011). During his 70-year career he worked with some of Hollywood's greatest filmmakers, including Laurence Olivier, Clint Eastwood, Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, Elia Kazan, Ridley Scott, and many more. Among his most famous film posters are those for Casablanca and A Clockwork Orange.

Japanese Mini-Poster Collection
Chirashi are mini-posters/ flyers used to advertise movies in Japan. Due to the fact they are only available from movie theaters while the movie is showing, they are collectible movie memorabilia and rise in value based on age and scarcity. Movie flyers are often printed on high quality paper, and are usually a single sheet (2 sides) or 2-page "gatefold" (4 sides). What's unique about Japanese movie posters is that much of the artwork is custom created for the Japanese market, with a distinctive Japanese design. The Japanese poster will often look quite different to the artwork available in other countries. In many cases the design is superior, and some innovative releases include fold-out posters and specialty prints you won't find anywhere else.
